The Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Technical Lead who enjoys hands-on coding as much as mentoring and leading a team. You’ll help drive architecture, make key technical decisions, and ship features that add real value to their customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of engineers to hit milestones and grow professionally
• Define architecture and best practices across backend and cloud systems
• Maintain high-quality code standards through reviews, testing, and automation
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on continuous learning
• Act as a hands-on technical expert and trusted advisor for your team

Ideally You Have:

• Strong proficiency with Java backend development
• Proven experience designing and working with REST/GraphQL APIs
• Familiarity with serverless architectures and cloud services
• Demonstrated leadership skills — both as a people leader and technical expert
• Skilled at working with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Comfortable with automated testing, CI/CD, and agile processes
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 3-5+ years of commercial Technical Lead experience
• Full working rights in Australia
