Project Manager – IT & Business Transformation

Melbourne | 6-Month Contract | Full-Time | Immediate Start

We’re working with a leading organisation at the beginning of a major IT and business process transformation, and they’re seeking a capable, hands-on Project Manager to lead the delivery of high-impact initiatives.

This role will see you manage cross-functional teams, own end-to-end delivery of new systems and business processes, and play a central role in ensuring that the organisation is set up for long-term success.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the planning and execution of IT and business transformation projects, from scope to delivery.
• Manage schedules, budgets, resources, and risks to ensure successful delivery of project outcomes.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including tech teams, business leads, and transformation roles to align on priorities.
• Facilitate requirements gathering, translating business needs into actionable project deliverables.
• Oversee governance, documentation, reporting, and quality standards across each project lifecycle.
• Partner with Change Managers to ensure adoption and readiness are built into every phase of delivery.
• Engage external vendors and partners to deliver third-party components and services as needed.
• Report regularly to the Transformation and PMO teams on project progress, risks, and outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Experience

• Demonstrated experience managing technology-enabled transformation projects end to end.
• Strong familiarity with structured project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid).
• Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and juggle complex dependencies across business and tech.
• Skilled in requirements gathering, risk identification, project reporting, and budget tracking.

Desirable

• Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum Master).
• Proficiency with PM tools and platforms (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet).
• Understanding of business process improvement methodologies.
• Experience in healthcare, education, or professional bodies will be highly regarded.
