We're hiring a Principal Engineer to lead a newly formed, high-priority squad focused on customer identity, loyalty and mobile engagement. You’ll play a key role in a major digital transformation, helping scale a platform used by millions of Australians.

This role blends technical leadership with hands-on coding. You’ll shape the mobile-first experience, influence the broader engineering approach, and help build secure, scalable solutions.

What you'll do:

• Own solution design and development for mobile-first features
• Lead technical direction across identity, loyalty, and checkout journeys
• Guide a cross-functional team and set engineering best practices
• Collaborate with product, UX, and platform teams to align on roadmap priorities
• Contribute to a strong engineering culture and mentor fellow engineers

What we’re looking for:

• Experience leading technical strategy and hands-on development in high-scale environments
• Strong background across React Native, PHP, .NET, or Java with Azure cloud expertise
• Familiar with microservices architecture and CI/CD pipelines
• Confident working across squads to align tech direction and drive outcomes
• Mobile product or loyalty platform experience a bonus
